History:
Link here. Note that only information from the first three X-films is relevant and not X-Men First Class, Days of Future Past & Apocalypse. Just prior to her arrival she will have been depowered and has been using her looks to pose as a supermodel with the fictive name of Ronnie Lake. She will likely continue this charade at Deerington while it suits her.

Personality:
Mystique is a woman of few words, a deeply enigmatic even sinister presence whose past is as mysterious as her name. Lies and deceit are a way of life for her, and she approaches almost every conversation with the intent of probing a person’s weaknesses and desires. A false face with a sweet smile, a quiet child in the corner, the boaster at the bar, any and all of them might be her, she is the ultimate actor, but what remains one the masks are stripped away? Few know the answer to that question, and it’s possible that Mystique herself knows the answer any more. Is she a monster or is that just a label that her enemies like to stick on her, not knowing her long and tortured past?

One of the principal things that motivates Mystique is survival; her own and mutantkind in that order. She would not hesitate to sacrifice a life if it serves her purposes and has a sadistic streak, taking pleasure from violence and getting a thrill from deceiving others. She likes to taunt and push at boundaries, walking around without clothing when in her natural form to flaunt who she is.

Sympathy and empathy are not Mystique’s strong suits, and if she is showing either of these it’s likely because she has some purpose in mind, not because she actually cares. Emotions for her are just another part of the mask that she wears, tools to be used without letting others see her true state of mind.

Why is Mystique like this? When she was a young child her own parents tried to murder her, thinking her a demon. It’s likely that she repaid them in kind, but ever since she’s had to deal with the knowledge that she is very different to the people around her and this isolation has led her down the path of anger and bitterness.

Having said that she is loyal to her allies, up to a point. She sees herself as a soldier fighting a war, and will not let herself be shackled by morality if it means losing. Humans have killed many a mutant, and Mystique doesn’t intend to let that happen to her.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
Mystique is a shapeshifter, capable of taking the shape of any human, humanoid or animal form right down to the cellular level. Being able to manipulate her body to such a degree brings with it a number of benefits, including enhanced senses, strength and particularly agility. She can quickly form a resistance to poisons and pathogens and can use her powers to move her internal organs to avoid injury and self-heal.

She is resilient and won’t go down like a normal human, but Mystique can be killed, and nearly was by Wolverine, and while skilled at combat she she's been beaten before and will be again, just don't expect that doing so will be easy.

For the purposes of Deerington, Mystique will be coming to the game a few months after being Cured, and her arrival in the game will be the cue for the return of her powers. However her powers will malfunction throughout her stay; some days they might work just fine but other days she will be stuck in her own form or that of another unable to shapeshift further. She might be an animal or a hideous creature, a movie star or another game character (with permission) or even a bizarre mix of multiple people, but she will be stuck like that from morning until night sometimes unable to communicate. She will still be able to flash her eyes yellow regardless of whether trapped to prove to other characters it’s her.
